Charley Harper's Nature Discovery Series
Talk about fun. The basis for each of these books is a large, detailed painting by the master of "minimal realism." My rhyming text introduces readers (and listeners) to each silhouetted animal and plant featured in the painting--which is shown in full at the end, as a fold-out page. A key is also provided, so that children (and adults) can locate the various creatures and flora already met in the book's pages. Charley Harper loved nature, and I loved conceiving of and writing these vibrant little books.
